Some people sing. Some people rap. Some people dance. Some people draw. Some people speak. Some people write. I may not talk much, but I promise I have lots to say. This book is so much more than words and a story to me. I depict parallels to systemic grievances. In chapter 1, the main character is kidnapped in the middle of her performances ( #bringbackourgirls ). In the sixth chapter, I call out the pressures of male masculinity. In the tenth chapter (and in this excerpt), I call attention to depression and mental illness. What I'm trying to say is--> no matter the talent, it's imperative to use it and groom it into positivity.
